Tree Keepers perform one of the tasks that is most vital to the park - they look after and nurture the parks new trees.
Eventually we will begin to plant these trees into their permanent positions and we expect that to start happening around 2010-2012.
Every year until 2009, we will plant 100 new trees from seed and expect about 40% - 50% to survive to maturity.
By the end of the process
we will expect to have planted around 100 - 150 trees to complement the 183 already in the park. These are to both provide new trees and to replace those older trees that are
dead, dying or missing. Currently there are thought to be 52 dead or missing trees and a handful that are dying. Once we have completed the planting process in approximately 2012, we will have increased the number of trees by around 44%
providing much needed habitats for all the local wildlife and, of course, increased enjoyment and pleasure for the park users.
